title: "Edit a Client"
description: "Find a client (line), change its password, bouquets or limits, renew it, and disable, ban or delete it."
---

A customer forgot their password, paid for another month, or wants more channels. All of this happens on the page of the **client (line)**. This page shows how to find a client, change it, renew it, and stop it when needed.

## Find the client

1. In the menu, open **Clients** > **Overview**.
2. Type in **Search username, email or notes...**, or use the filters next to it:
   - A reseller, to see only the clients of that reseller.
   - A status: **Active**, **Disabled**, **Banned**, **Expired** or **Trial**. Administrators also have **Restreamers** and **Users without associated Reseller**.
   - A date: for example **Expiring in next 7 days**, **Expired in last 30 days** or **Registered today**.
3. In the **Actions** column, click **Edit** (the pencil icon) to open the client.

If you cannot find a client, clear the filters with the broom button at the top right.

## Change the client as an administrator

The client page has the same tabs as when you created it, plus **CATEGORIES**. Above the tabs you also see **Active Connections** and **Download Playlist**.

1. Change what you need:
   - New password: **DETAILS** > **Password**. Leave it empty to generate a new one.
   - Renew: **DETAILS** > **Expiry**. Pick the new date, or check **Never**.
   - Content: **BOUQUETS**. Click a bouquet to add or remove it.
   - Hide some categories: **CATEGORIES**. Uncheck a category in **VISIBLE** to hide it from this client. Use **All**, **Live**, **VOD** and **Series** to filter, and **Check** or **Uncheck** for the visible rows.
   - Transfer the client: **DETAILS** > **Owner**.
   - Also **Max Connections**, **Email**, **Admin Notes** and the options in **ADVANCED** and **RESTRICTIONS**. See [Create a Client](/docs/create-a-client) for what each one does.
2. Click **Save Changes**.

If the client was created by a reseller, you can read the reseller's note in **Reseller Notes**.

## Change or renew the client as a reseller

1. Open the client from **Clients** > **Overview**.
2. To renew, choose a package in **Package**. The default value, **No Changes**, does not renew. When you choose a package, **Expiration Date** shows the new date:
   - If the client is still active, the package duration is added to the current expiration date. The customer does not lose any days.
   - If the client already expired, the new period starts today.
3. To change the password, type it in **Password**. If the field is locked, your group is not allowed to change passwords.
4. In **REVIEW PURCHASE**, check the cost and the bouquets. You can uncheck bouquets and hide categories, as when you created the client.
5. Click **Save Changes**.

With credits, a renewal costs the package price, the same as a new client. With slots, renewals are free. See [Reseller Credits and Slots](/docs/reseller-credits).

## Stop a client

In **Clients** > **Overview**, each row has these actions:

- **Kill Connections**: closes every session of the client now. The client can connect again at once if the line is still enabled.
- **Disable** / **Enable**: turns the client off or on.
- **Ban** / **Unban**: only administrators see these buttons, so a reseller cannot lift a ban.
- **Delete**: removes the client. Resellers see it only if their group has **Can Delete Users**.

Administrators can also select several rows and click **Delete** in the bar at the bottom.

> [!TIP]
> To stop a customer for good, first **Disable** or **Ban** the client, then click **Kill Connections**. If you only kill the connections, the app reconnects in a few seconds.

## Protection blocks

When a client is blocked by your protection rules, the client page shows **Protection is blocking this client**, with the IP and the rule. Administrators can click **Lift block now** or **Unblock…** to create an exception. Resellers see the block but only the administrator can unblock it. See [Protection](/docs/protection).

## What happens next

- Your changes are saved at once. Apps that are already playing can keep the old session until they reconnect. Use **Kill Connections** if a change must apply now, for example after a new password.
- The **Connections** section at the bottom of the client page shows the viewing history of the client. See [Connections History](/docs/connections-history).

## Common problems

- **The client still plays with the old password**: the open session was not closed. Click **Kill Connections**.
- **The client sees no channels**: the page shows "No content assigned." Add bouquets and save.
- **"You don't have enough credits to edit an user"** (reseller): the renewal costs more than your balance. Add credits first.
- **Movies do not play but live channels do**: this is often a protection block. Check the protection section of the client page.
