Every day there are matches your subscribers want to watch, and setting up an event channel for each one by hand takes time. The Events Scheduler with AI does it for you: it finds today's matches, uses the TV guide to see which of your channels broadcast them, and creates an event channel for each match, with generated artwork, ready to record, replay and delete on its own.

What it does

  • Finds today's football (soccer) matches, by the date in the time zone you choose.
  • Finds the source in your list: the AI checks the TV guide to see which channels broadcast each match, and looks for those channels among yours. When it finds them, the event channel uses their sources.
  • Creates the event channel in the categories, bouquets and servers you choose. The name includes the start time, for example 18/10 20:00 UTC+2: Rivermouth FC vs Northgate United.
  • Generates the artwork: a logo image showing the two teams, plus a portrait and a backdrop in case you publish the recording as a movie.
  • Sets the start and end time of the event, based on the match time and a typical duration for the sport.
  • Can record the match and replay it on loop once it ends.
  • Can delete the channel automatically some hours or days after the event ends.
  • Can create channels even without a source, so the structure is ready and you add the source by hand.

It also skips a match that already has an event channel with the same teams. The scheduler runs on its own about once an hour. You do not need to keep the page open.

Set it up

  1. Open Channels > Guide & Events > Events Scheduler with AI.
  2. Turn on the switch at the top of the page. The AI CONFIGURATION tab appears.
  3. Fill in the options:
Option What it does
Create Event Channels Even Without Available Sources If the AI does not find a source for a match in your list, it still creates the channel, without a source, so you can add one later.
Channel Categories Categories for the new event channels.
Channel Bouquets Bouquets for the new event channels.
Target Servers Servers that run the event channels.
Restream Event in Loop once it finishes After the match, the channel plays the recording on loop. Needs at least one target server.
Recording Server The server that records the matches. Only target servers can be chosen, and it is enabled when the loop option is on.
Stream Default Quality SD, HD, FHD or UHD.
Default Timezone The start time in each channel name uses this time zone. It also defines what "today" means.
Enable Auto Delete and Delete After Deletes the event channel this many Hours or Days after the event ends. With 0, the channel is deleted as soon as the event ends.
  1. Click Save Settings.

What you see after

New event channels appear in Channels > Overview with the match in the name. Each one is a normal event channel: you can open it, change its sources or times, and turn recording on or off. See Mark Channels as an Event.

If you turned on the waiting video in Settings > Streaming, your clients see it while all sources of an event channel are offline.

Matches on your dashboard

The Dashboard shows a strip of today's and tomorrow's matches, with Today and Tomorrow filters, a list of leagues, live scores, and a countdown for matches that have not started.

Create a single event channel by hand

You do not need the scheduler for a one-off match. Create a channel, turn on Is An Event Channel ?, and the panel searches for the match by the channel name and fills the start and end times. See Mark Channels as an Event.

Common problems

  • No channels are created: check that the switch at the top is on, that you chose at least one target server, and that there are matches today in your time zone. Without Create Event Channels Even Without Available Sources, a match is only created when the AI finds a channel in your list that broadcasts it.
  • A channel has no source: it was created with the "without sources" option. Add the source in the channel's SOURCES tab.
  • The time in the channel name looks wrong: check Default Timezone.
