You want one reseller to create sub-resellers and another one not to. Or you want a support person who can manage clients but never touch your servers. Permissions in the panel are not set per person: they belong to a member group, and every reseller or administrator has one group. To give two people different permissions, put them in two different groups.

Create a group

  1. In the menu, open Resellers Network > Edit Group Permissions and click Add Group. The editor has three tabs: Details, Reseller Permissions and Admin Permissions.
  2. In Details:
    • Group Name: for example "Reseller Standard" or "Support Team".
    • Is Admin: turn it on only for people of your own team.
    • Is Reseller: turn it on for groups of resellers who sell to their own customers.
    • Is Banned: blocks the login of everyone in the group.
    • Role Badge Label and Badge Color: the label shown in the top bar of the members. Badge Preview shows the result. Leave them empty to use the default (ADMIN or RESELLER).
  3. For a reseller group, open Reseller Permissions (see the list below).
  4. For an admin group, you can limit the pages in Admin Permissions (see below).
  5. Click Add.

Reseller permissions

The Reseller Permissions tab has several options. These are the main ones:

Option What it does
Can Create Subresellers Lets the reseller create their own sub-resellers.
Subreseller Price Credits taken from the reseller for each new sub-reseller.
Reseller can modify user pass Lets the reseller choose and change client passwords. If off, the panel generates the password and the reseller cannot change it.
Can View Live Connections Shows Live Connections and the connection history of their clients.
Can Delete Users Lets the reseller delete their clients. Deleting cannot be undone.
Mass Import Clients Lets the reseller import many clients from a file. It is on by default.

For new or junior resellers, leave Can Delete Users off. They can still disable a client, but they cannot delete it by mistake.

Admin permissions

The Admin Permissions tab lists the pages and actions of the panel, for example View Dashboard, Add User, Edit User, View Live Connections, Edit Settings, Delete Stream, Content Order or Mass Import Clients. Click a row to select it. Select All and De-Select All help with long lists.

These permissions only apply to groups with Is Admin on:

  • If you select no permission, the group has full access.
  • If you select some, the members can only open those pages. This is how you create a support or content team that cannot open Settings or your servers.
  • Edit and delete are separate. For example, a content editor can have Edit Stream without Delete Stream.
  • The main Administrator group is never limited. Create a separate group for sub-admins.

Page limits for admin groups may need to be turned on for your panel. If a sub-admin can still open pages you did not select, contact Xtream AI support.

Give the group to a user

Open the reseller or administrator in Resellers Network > Overview, choose the group in Member Group and save. When you create a new user, the Member Group list only shows groups that match the type you picked (administrator or reseller). See Create a Reseller.

To decide which packages a reseller group can sell, use the Group Permissions tab of each package. See Packages and Bouquets.

What happens next

Changes apply to every member of the group. If a member is logged in and does not see the change, ask them to log out and log in again.

Common problems

  • A reseller does not see a menu: the option is off in their group, for example Can View Live Connections or Mass Import Clients.
  • A group is missing from the Member Group list: the group type does not match the user. An administrator needs a group with Is Admin, a reseller a group with Is Reseller.
  • You gave Is Admin to a group by mistake: turn it off at once. Until then, its members had full access.
