Settings → Telegram Notifications lets your panel announce new content on Telegram using your own bot. You decide where it posts (your private chat, a group or a channel), what it announces (live channels, movies, series, by category) and how often.

Everything is sent with your bot, so the messages come from your brand, not from us. The feature is available to admins, and to resellers when the admin enables Allow resellers to use Telegram notifications.

What it does

  • One post per new item (default): each new movie or series goes out as its own message, with its poster and synopsis. Live channels are announced with their name and category.
  • Summary digest (optional): one message per run with everything new, grouped by type and category.

Only content added after you turn the notifications on is announced; there is no history, and nothing is sent twice.

Step 1 — Create your bot

The bot is yours: you create it in Telegram with @BotFather and paste its token in the panel.

  1. In Telegram, open @BotFather (the Open @BotFather button takes you there).
  2. Send /newbot, then a name (what people see, for example My IPTV News) and a username that ends in bot (for example myiptvnews_bot).
  3. BotFather replies with a token like 123456789:ABCdef…. Copy it.
  4. Back in the panel, paste it in Paste the token from @BotFather and click Connect.

If the token is wrong or incomplete you will see "That token doesn't look right": send /mybots to BotFather, pick your bot and use API Token to copy it again. Disconnect bot removes the bot and all its destinations.

Step 2 — Where to send

You can add up to 10 destinations per bot:

  • My private chat — only you receive the updates.
  • A group — your team, or a customers' group.
  • A channel — to announce to all your subscribers.

For your chat and groups, click the destination type, press Open Telegram and tap Start: the panel detects it automatically in a few seconds and sends a welcome message as confirmation.

For a channel, the bot cannot join by itself:

  1. In Telegram, open the channel → Administrators → Add administrator → search your bot and add it (it only needs permission to post messages).
  2. Paste the channel's public @username in the panel and click Verify. The panel sends a test message to the channel.

A private channel with no @username cannot be linked. Give it a temporary username in the channel settings, link it, and remove the username afterwards.

Every destination appears as a row with its switch, a Send test button and a remove button. The switch is the on/off of that destination: a destination only receives while its switch is on. If a destination is paused, the others keep working.

Step 3 — What to announce

For each destination you choose the content:

  • Live channels, Movies and Series: turn on at least one.
  • All categories, or Only these and pick one or more categories of that type.

Click Save at the bottom of the destination you changed. A destination can be different from the others: for example everything to your private chat, and only movies of certain categories to the public channel.

Resellers only see the categories that contain content from the packages they sell, and the announcements only include that content.

Step 4 — One post per item, or a summary digest

In Format you pick how the announcements look:

  • One post per new item (poster + synopsis) — a message per item. Movies and series go with their poster (from TMDB) and a short synopsis; live channels go with their name and category. This is the default.
  • Summary digest — a single message per run, grouped by type and category.

Then set when it runs: every 15 minutes, every hour, every 6 hours, or once a day at a fixed time (in your panel's time zone). Click Save.

Send preview sends you a real sample right away: with one post per item you get the most recent item of the last 24 hours, and with the digest you get the last 24 hours grouped. If nothing was added in that window you get "Nothing new in the last 24 hours, but your bot is working."

Cadence, limits and what to expect

  • A big batch does not get cut off. In one post per item mode the panel sends up to 15 posts per destination per run, a few seconds apart, and continues with the rest on the next run (about 5 minutes later). Nothing is summarised into "and N more".
  • A channel that was paused does not get the backlog. Only what is added after you turn it back on is announced.
  • Movies and series without poster metadata in your catalog go out as text, with title, category and synopsis.
  • The announcements include what was added since the previous run, so a movie added five minutes ago can wait until the next check.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing arrives. Check that at least one destination has its switch on, that the destination has at least one content type enabled with its categories, and that the engine is online. With the daily cadence the announcement goes out at the configured hour, not at the moment of the upload.
  • "The bot was removed from this chat" / "This chat blocked the bot". Add the bot back to the group (or unblock it in your chat) and click Send test: the destination reactivates when the test succeeds.
  • "Telegram rejected the bot token. Reconnect the bot." Someone revoked the token in BotFather. Generate a new one with /revoke or /token, and click Connect again in step 1.
  • The channel will not link. The bot must be an administrator of the channel before you click Verify, and the channel needs a public @username.
  • A reseller does not see the section. Either the admin has the Allow resellers to use Telegram notifications switch off, or the reseller does not have the Settings permission.
  • No poster in a post. That item has no poster saved in your catalog; the post goes out as text. Live channels are always text.
